Crowns for Implant
Implants nowadays is not just a futuristic treatment that is uncommon.
In fact the advanced design in implants and the technique in placement
accounts for the high success rate and less rejection complication.
Implants involves three things.
The implant itself. This is usually placed with the patient under local anesthesia in which the patient is awake but the mouth is numb or under sedation or general anesthesia. The implant is a piece of metal or ceramic embedded into the bone and partially covered by the gums.
Abutment. This is a piece of metal or ceramic sticking out of the implant which is held in place with a screw.
Crown. This goes over the abutment to simulate the natural tooth and is either cemented or screwed in place.
Other types of implant varies in components such as those that are used to support dentures.
For the common type of implant we offer services to fabricate a crown.
We also fabricate abutment if the implant needs one.
We refer patients desiring to have implants to the specialist we personally know and trust. All of my patients who had work done by them are completely satisfied with their services.
Family Dental Care
Patients from all ages are welcome in our office. We have treated kids as young as 2 years of age to grandparents as young as 83. Parents who wish to have their children referred to a specialist for kids have the option to get referral from us. Usually the specialist either put the patient to sleep or gives them medication to make them drowsy/less anxious.
Should the parents decide that the sedation or putting to sleep is not an option, with the parents consent we gently use a papoose board to keep the child patient safe and still. This is like a wrap around the body restraint. Injury can be prevented in this way with the patient being restless and difficult to manage as they are anxious and scared.
Our building is accessible to wheelchair borne patients and special parking space is also provided.
Basic General Dental Care and Maintenance
We value all patients regardless of who comes to our office. You may be the type of patient who just need regular check-up and cleaning or you may be the patient who is scared with even just thinking about going to the dentist and needs major dental work. Nevertheless we listen to all your concerns and apprehension. We also see to it that we give you continuing care and give you reminders if you need it especially for the bi-yearly dental cleaning.
We recommend what is best and we always show you what you need before even starting with the treatment. Finances is also discussed prior to doing any dental work so there are no surprises.
We have a small camera that can take pictures of your dental condition and you can see it in the TV screen so you can participate in deciding on the options being offered to you for your treatment.
We offer services such as removal of impacted wisdom teeth, root canal treatment for infected or severely decayed tooth, gum treatment, tooth extractions simple or difficult.
If it is your first time in our office we usually ask you to provide personal information and may include confidential data such as social security number and date of birth . These things are necessary for insurance billing purposes. During the first visit we take x-rays, do oral examination, and clean your teeth. Should you have any tooth bothering you we take care of it on the same day. Regular non-emergency treatment is usually done on the next visit unless if you mention to the receptionist during your initial scheduling that you need some work done.
Natural Looking Dentures
Characterization and profiling in denture making requires good technical judgement and experience. Dr. Sy personally sets the teeth for the dentures. During the denture trial visit, actual adjustment is made on the spot so that function and esthetics are ideally set then patient will have the chance to see the desired outcome for approval before it will be processed in the lab for final fabrication.
Removable Partial Dentures usually have metal "hooks" that holds on the natural teeth to make it stay in place. When the patient smiles, the metal shows specially when a picture is taken with flash photography. We always see to it that when you have your removable partial dentures done in our office that you will be able to smile with confidence and without the metal shine!
We only employ known and branded Lab in out office and we guarantee its quality.
"Extreme Makeover" Porcelain Veneers
Uneven, chipped, slightly crooked or severely discolored teeth can be corrected with porcelain veneers. If you are familiar with the fake fingernails glued over the natural fingernails. Porcelain veneers is somewhat the same idea although on most cases slight grinding of the front surface of the teeth is required to prepare it for an even alignment and contour of the thin porcelain material that will be "glued over" the natural teeth.
The looks that you have always dreamed of can be achieved.
Not all models, celebrities, beauty contest winners are born with that beautiful smile. Guess what procedure they went through. We can make a sample veneer mock up try-in for you to personally see how your smile can change in a matter of 2 visits.Basic general dental care and Maintenance - The quality of care is good and preventive measures are fairy effective, but the patient is not dedicated to achieving Optimum Repair. Usually maintenance dentistry is intermediate dentistry such as silver and large plastic fillings, which safely last 3 to 10 years.
Teeth Whitening
There is nothing like a smile of gleamingly white teeth that lasts a lifetime. Your teeth can be made whiter for life without doing aggressive dental procedures. Over the counter whitening products are availabe in the different stores and they come in different forms such as gels, liquid paint on, and strips.
These products do work but the whitening agent is very dilute hence it takes a long period of time for it to make a significant change. Some even take an average of six months and the results are just one or two shades lighter.
We offer two kinds of teeth whitening systems and the indication for each system depends on the natural color of your teeth and how fast you want the whitening process to go and what degree of whiteness you like to achieve.
Home Bleaching System
This kind of sytem is good for the average light yellow to off white natural teeth color. This involves 2 visits.
First Visit: we make a "copy" of your teeth by taking impressions. Then we make exact fit trays from the "copy" .
Second Visit: we give you the Home Bleaching Kit which includes
The tray, bleaching gels and Instructions.
Dramatic results will be seen in 3 to 6 weeks.
Deep Bleaching System
Even tetracycline stained teeth can be whitened by this system! Some cases can literally go as far as "almost paper white extreme". 3 visits are required in this system.
First Visit:"copy" of your teeth are made and trays are fabricated.
Second Visit: a ONE HOUR IN-OFFICE teeth whitening is done using the trays with chemically Activated Teeth Whitening Gel inside.
Home Bleaching Kit is also provided in this system as part of the whole process. Home bleaching needs of be done 2 to 3 weeks.
Third Visit: immediately next day after the home bleaching ends, another
Top of the Line Crowns and Bridges
The most popular way of replacing a missing tooth is by making a fixed bridge. Crown on the other hand is a type of restoration that covers the entire top part of the tooth to protect it from breaking apart due to decay or from a large failing filling.
Do you know that once a crown or bridge are placed over your natural tooth/teeth they do not need to be replaced just because they are old? Some situations where it needs to be replaced are:
gums have receded
tooth decay along the gumline at the edge of the crown or bridge
porcelain chipped from the restoration
a hole has been drilled through the crown/bridge as in the case of doing a root canal therapy on the crown/bridge involved
redo poorly done crown/bridge resulting to gum problem, bite problem, or food entrapment between the teeth.
Metal Free Crowns and Bridges is one of the advances in the art and science of dental restoration which we offer. It eliminates the grey discoloration along the gumline which is common among restoration that has the base non-precious metal. We also offer other top of the line restorations that are superb such as precious metal lined crowns and bridges, ceramic lined, gold lined, and even platinum lined restorations. Excellent diagnostic ability, skilled and experienced clinical hand, no compromise impression techniques, the best and trusted porcelain laboratory ensure you that the crown and bridge that we will place need not be replaced for decades and may not even need replacement at all.
White Fillings
Controversy of silver fillings have been an issue since the early 1800s.
The claims were that silver fillings contains mercury and is believed to be toxic. Almost 2 centuries have past and for sure a lot of studies have been made about this material but so far no research was able to substantiate such claim.
Yes we still use silver fillings. It is no doubt the basis for comparison for all other filling material because of its strength, wear and ability to seal.
It is metal and it is durable. It is inexpensive and has less tooth hypersensitivity after fillings are placed. The main draw back is its appearance.
We use silver fillings only as an option. The material of choice that we use for average size cavities is direct composite resin. It is a plastic material and all properties is comparable to silver fillings. The great thing about this material is that for cosmetic reasons it is highly acceptable.
Direct Composite Resin has some limitation when it comes to large cavities therefore we recommend indirect porcelain restoration. It has superior wear resistance, durability, and can be bonded to the tooth.
It is tooth colored and can be made see-through just like a natural tooth. |
